The Caribbean is where Reuben was born , on the beautiful island of St. Vincent, and although he left when he was just a child, he still calls on his Caribbean roots when the time and songs are right.

when he was just a child, he still calls upon his Caribbean roots when the time and songs are right.
Reuben was educated and spent those all-important formative years in the UK. as a musical sponge,
Reuben absorbed what he heard on the radio and in the clubs, especially if it was released
on Stax Atlantic or Motown.
Early influences included Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklyn and later other artistes made their mark including Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Al Green, Stevie Winwood and Van Morrison.
The legendary disc jockey Emperor Rosco, who knew Otis well, said that Reuben's covers of Otis's
songs such as, Hard To Handle and Try A Little Tenderness, were ''as good as it gets''.
As well as his undisputed musical talent, Reuben is also an accomplished actor who has been seen
in a variety of television dramas, and was proud to be a part of the production of ‘Peace Child’ at the
Royal Albert Hall with Susannah York.
Reuben also appeared on a popular ITV programme in 2001 where he gave a riveting performance as
the 'Wicked Wilson Pickett'.
However it is on stage with a microphone in his hand and his band behind him, that Reuben really
comes alive and is most at home.
Music is in his heart and soul, and that is fundamentally why, quite simply, Reuben Richards is .....
